Flickr for Android review

Flickr for Android

Flickr has been in the photo game for a looooooong time, and as you might expect, their Android app is very well done, even in a world rife with picture-sharing options.

At its core, Flickr lets you see all of your pictures uploaded to their service and see what your friends are posting. You can dive into detailed information on each photo, such as aperture, shutter speed, camera and lens model, category tags, license information, and location (if included). Auto-sync can easily make Flickr your go-to photo back-up option, especially with a full 1 TB of storage available for free.

This Galaxy Note 4 concept will never happen, but it looks great!

Concept renders of unannounced devices can be a fun way to think of how you would design a phone if you were put at the head of the table, and this Samsung Galaxy Note 4 render is a cool example of what happens when you let your mind run wild. Modern Combat 5 review - raising the bar for mobile action

Modern Combat 5 for Android

Modern Combat 5 is the latest in a long series of high-quality first person shooter games from Gameloft. The whole Modern Combat series shamelessly riffs on popular shooter franchises like Call of Duty, and has been doing so well before official mobile counterparts for those games were made. Even now that Call of Duty has come to mobile, Modern Combat 5 still manages to give it a run for its money.

By and large, Modern Combat 5 is lock in step with Modern Combat 4. It boasts bar-setting graphics, rich multiplayer, familiar experience and achievement progression, a dazzling array of weapon customization, and top-notch voice acting. That's great and all, but there is one distinct difference in Modern Combat 5 which could easily stand as the sole selling point: there are zero in-app purchases.

More Samsung Galaxy Alpha details emerge: This may not be the Prime you're looking for

Samsung Galaxy Alpha

We just recently saw our first look at the purported Galaxy Alpha, and now a new set of pictures and more details have emerged that give us a better indication of just what this device is. New clear pictures from SamMobile show off the Galaxy Alpha next to the known quantity that is the Galaxy S5, confirming that the Alpha is indeed a smaller device with a slightly different look.

The Galaxy Alpha reportedly has just a 4.7-inch display, and one that's similar to what shipped on the Galaxy S3 — though the details of resolution and technology aren't known at this point. That's going to be paired up with 32GB of storage but no SDcard slot, according to the leak, and the Alpha will retain the fingerprint scanner found on the S5. The body is indeed made out of metal — reportedly aluminum — but the back is the same textured plastic as we've seen on the Galaxy S5 already.
