T-Mobile G2 now available online from Costco [From the Forums]

6

We figured that Costco was going to be selling the T-Mobile G2, based on a tip and a screenshot from Costco's internal systems, and today we find that it's now available for online ordering from the bulk discount warehouse giant.  The deal gets better, as Android Central Forums member CrAZ points out the G2 also includes a free accessory kit containing a handsfree earbud, case, car charger, and a bluetooth headset.

There's a small catch though, as Costco is only selling the G2 to those with an available upgrade -- so no outright sales or flex-pay are available.  The contract renewal price is $199.99, with none of that mail-in rebate we all love to hate.  Hit the source link to learn more.  [Android Central Forums]

Palm going black slab? [the competition]

92

OK, all you Palm defectors (and we know who you are). Listen up. Our pals at PreCentral broke the news that the boys and girls in Sunnyvale may be working on a keyboardless device, codenamed "Mansion." It's said to have a 480x800 resolution, and we'll go ahead and assume it'll launch with a next-gen version of Palm's webOS software.

So we put the question to you: If Palm comes out with a black-slab phone, would it be enough to get you off the likes of the Evo 4G or Droid Incredible or any of the other phones superior to the current Palm hardware? Let's hear it in the comments, folks. [PreCentral]

Google TV site fires up ahead of launch

21

Google TV starts to make a lot more sense once you've actually seen it. And Google's gone and sexied up its Google.com/TV page ahead of this week's launch. (Logitech has an event on Wednesday for its set-top box). Give the site a run through, and keep this in the back of your mind: Android-based apps. On your TV. It's very cool. [Google.com/TV] Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Hands on with the T-Mobile G2

27

Like many, I've been itching to get my hands on the T-Mobile G2, and today was my lucky day.  It's the latest in the HTC cadre of Android goodness, and if first impressions stand, a fine successor to the Nexus One or a great way to get introduced to Android.  Brushed aluminum, Teflon soft coating, solid build quality (at least on the ones I tried out), and a unique look and feel will make this one a winner for many of you guys.  Follow the break to see my initial thoughts and check out the hands on video for yourself! (And a big thanks to Android Central podcast listener and T-Mobile employee Victor for getting my pre-order snafus all sorted for me!)

Catch your favorite FM channel on the go with TuneIn Radio

25

Music is a big part of my life, as is my Android device since it keeps me in contact with everyone no matter where I am. While on the go I like to listen to music between destinations or while waiting for the next event to take placee, and sometimes it is hard to find just the right music for the mood. Solutions like Pandora and Slacker are great, but sometimes just listening to the FM radio is enough variety and has just the right selections. Whether your prefer local or standard FM channels, TuneIn Radio is a great free application that allows you to browse and listen to a huge variety of music while on the go. The application is supported by a small ad on the bottom, which is a small trade for the $0.00 pricetag associated with it and the vast variety of music that will now be in your hands at all times. Download links after the jump, give it a shot today!

Epic 4G bugfix update pushing out again

24

Word on the street this morning is that the DI18 update to the Sprint Epic 4G -- that one fixes 3G upload speeds, Wifi battery drain issues, the inability to download from the Amazon MP3 store over 4G and e-mail lag -- has begun pushing out again after being on hold for a couple days. We haven't gotten ours yet, but we've gotten a few e-mails from those who say they have. And if you're the impatient type, Andrew Ruffalo in the Android Central Forums has an manual update method ready to go. Huzzah! [Android Central Forums]
