A couple weeks ago, Howard Stern inked a new contract with Sirius that enabled him to broadcast on mobile devices, including Android. What was unknown was when his channels would be made available. See where this is going? The Stern channels have gone live on the Sirius XM app for Android!.

If you're interested, go into your Sirius XM app and browse or search for Stern, then you're ready to listen to the controversial personality. Thanks, Jay and Gary!

Another shot of the HTC Incredible HD appears

19

It was only yesterday that we saw leaked pictures of the rumored HTC Incredible HD 4G for Verizon. Gizmodo now has another front picture of the device (not much different than the one we had a month ago) that is obviously sporting 4G LTE.

An increase in the amount of leaked pictures is hopefully a good sign that we'll see this device actually be announced soon. [Gizmodo] More in our rumored devices forums

Gameloft's Hero of Sparta free today

60

Just like I predicted earlier this month, Gameloft is offering up another one of their high quality Android games -- Hero of Sparta -- absolutely free.  But you gotta act quick, because the giveaway ends in less than 24 hours.

Featuring eight levels to explore in full 3D, Hero of Sparta provides an excellent action/adventure experience on your Android phone.  It's not available in the market, so you'll have to hit this page to see if your device is compatible, and begin your free download.

While you're over there, make sure you check out some of their other HD Android titles.  Most (possibly all) of their games come with a trial version that can be unlocked for $4.99.

Check out a trailer for Hero of Sparta after the break.  [Gameloft]

Motorola updates Android OS roadmap; some of you won't like it

55

Motorola has updated its Android software upgrade news page, and it's not pretty.  Besides no mention of Gingerbread for the Droid X (say yes Moto, you have to), there's a slew of lower-end handsets that look to be stuck on Android 1.6 (or even 1.5 in the case of the Wal-Mart StraightTalk Cliq XT), and the T-Mobile branded Cliq XT has had it's upgrade date pushed back for additional testing.

It's worth noting that Moto's newer Android offerings aren't even listed on this page, so we don't really expect any Gingerbread news at this point.  It is pretty disheartening to see phones with capable hardware being held back though, and we don't like any more than you do. [Motorola Android Software Upgrade News; Motorola official Cliq XT support] Thanks, Tim,!

Lloyd shows up on a Camaro in Forza 3

19

YouTube link for Mobile Viewing

We've seen him in Kuwait, we've seen him atop a Christmas tree, and now Lloyd's been spotted on a Chevy Camaro in the Forza 3 racing game. Looks pretty darn good to us. And if anybody wants to actually build us that car, we'll be more than happy to drive it. You listening, Chevy?

Leaked image confirms Epic 4G's Froyo update starts Dec. 26

28

We broke the news of the Epic 4G's impending Android 2.2 update yesterday. But for you doubters, Phone Area got a screen shot of the same internal Sprint memo detailing the changes. And, lo and behold, it's just as we said. The update will start rolling out to some users on Dec. 26, and continue for a four-day period. In other words, not everyone will get the update at the same time. But fear not, as the manual download location should be found in due time, and we can all update post haste. Android quick app: X-Plane 9

31

The intricate and realistic flight simulator finally comes to Android

It's been many months since we saw the X-Plane flight simulator for Android demoed at Google IO -- long enough that we wondered if we'd ever actually see it. But it's here, folks. And it's got all the airborne goodness you could have hoped for (and that we saw in our demo).

But at $9.99, this isn't a cheap app. Is it worth the 10-spot? Let's take a look after the break.

More pictures of the HTC EVO Shift 4G surface

57

The HTC EVO Shift 4G, a device that we saw a couple weeks ago and was caught in Sprint's system about a week ago, has posed for some more pictures.

What we do know thus far about the EVO Shift 4G is that it will likely sport an 800 MHz processor and have a QWERTY sliding keyboard. It will be similar in many ways to the HTC Desire Z and the T-Mobile G2

When this device will release is still up in the air, but the rumors have pointed to January. Stay tuned as more info is likely to leak in the coming weeks. [Phone Arena]
