ZTE announces the Nubia 5S Mini: Pixels on a budget


ZTE announced today its newest smartphone, the Nubia 5S Mini, which the company is calling the first widely available quad-core phone with both a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Cameras and camera software take the spotlight here, with ZTE claiming that it "advances smartphone photography" with DSLR-like control and professional-quality photos and editing.

Samsung to let you play games and Skype on its latest Smart TVs


Samsung has announced that it will be showing off new content for its Smart TVs at the IFA show in Berlin next month. The company will be debuting a number of game titles as well as Skype video chat with HD support and group chat. How the move will affect Google's Android TV efforts announced earlier this year is still unclear, but for casual gamers Samsung's move may appease minimalists who don't want to connect another box or tablet or phone to their living room setup.

We're getting back to work on mapping out the what's next for the Android Central app (and the companion apps for our sister sites), and we figured today would be as good a day as any to check in with you fine folks.

High up on our list is improved design for tablets, search integration, and notifications of new stories and replies to comments.

Facebook enabling in-app browser for links on some accounts


Facebook is rolling out a new feature in its app that many have offered for some time — an in-app browser — to speed up reading and sharing of links found within the social network. As is the case in many RSS readers and Twitter apps, Facebook's in-app browser will load the web page of a link you clicked within the Facebook app, rather than tossing you out to Chrome or another browser that you have installed on your phone.

Those inside of two limited Washington D.C. delivery zones can now order from a catalog of over 100 items Uber has in stock, and have the items delivered to their precise location. This service will only go for a couple of weeks to see what the reception's like.

Verizon's HTC One Max picking up Sense 6 in latest update


Though HTC One Max users on Sprint got their hands on a Sense 6 update back in May, Verizon has just started its OTA rollout. We've received several tips and there are some responses in our forums indicating that the Verizon One Max is indeed finally getting its Sense 6 update, bringing it in line with the software you'd find on the One M8.
