SwiftKey monthly users jump 54% after popular keyboard goes free

SwiftKey's move to drop the price tag of its keyboard offering in Google Play from $3.99 to free was a popular one among would-be users, and it turns out a good number went ahead and made the install after the price drop. Since going free back in June, SwiftKey has seen a 54 percent boost in monthly users, something that just wouldn't have happened at this point in its life if it had kept the paid-only model around.

Motorola confirms Android 4.4.4 rollout is well under way

We've covered the rollout of Android 4.4.4 to various Motorola devices, including the Moto E, Moto G and latest Droids, but Motorola has come out and named all of the devices and regions that are currently receiving the update. Taking to its blog, Motorola explained that the Moto G is currently getting the 4.4.4 update in both Brazil and India, while the Moto E is picking it up in Brazil, France, Canada and Asia.

Coming with the rebrand to the "Galaxy" name is a slight change in visual styling of the app to darker shades of blue and a few new animations, though the app overall performs much the same as it did before.
