Spider-Man Unlimited update weaves in new levels

Spider-Man Unlimited arrived on mobile back in September. The game instantly webbed me with its great graphics, a huge array of collectible characters, and overall excellent use of the Spider-Man license. But I also caught many bugs in my review that I hoped would be fixed before long.

HTC One Dot View Case does Halloween right

If you're rocking an HTC One M8 and have a Dot View Case and love Halloween, head on into the Dot View app and scroll over to the Holiday Themes. There you'll find a happy Halloween Jack-o-Lantern. Apply him and watch him bounce. Just like kids after way too much candy.

Figure we'll see new additions here as we head into the winter holidays, no doubt.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

It's Halloween tonight — let's put down the phones and concentrate on driving

Google Doodle Halloween 2014

A quick reminder, folks, that it's Halloween tonight. The kids are going to be out and about, wearing all sort of stuff that they can't see out of or walk well in, and worrying more about how much candy they get than whether they're wandering into the street. And so it's more important than ever for those of us in cars to put down the phones and keep our eyes out the road.

Repeat: Please. Put. Down. Your. Phone.

I thank you. My kids thank you. And their friends thank you.

Andy Rubin, former head of Android, is leaving Google

Andy Rubin

Andy Rubin, a co-founder of Android and long time employee of Google, is leaving the company. In Android circles Rubin is best known for his time leading the Android division at Google after his company was acquired in 2005, only to move after many years to head up robotics efforts at the company instead. Sundar Pichai has led Google's Android efforts since Rubin made the move in 2013.

Since moving to lead the robotics "moonshot" at Google Rubin oversaw the acquisition of multiple robotics companies, including Boston Dynamics, to strengthen its efforts in the field.

Rubin is leaving Google to start his own company focused on technology hardware (and you can bet robots are somehow involved), though Google is still staying committed to robotics after he leaves. James Kuffner, who works in Google's robotics group, will take over Rubin's position at the top.
