T-Mobile and LG give early preview of the 4G G-Slate

5

T-Mobile and LG have provided an early glimpse at their 4G tablet offering, called the G-Slate. You may notice that the video is the same from the leak earlier and from the Motorola presser. It will probably be used a lot until we see an official Honeycomb announcement.

What we know about the G-Slate is that it will indeed run Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), will be on T-Mobile's 4G network and it is being done in conjunction with Google. Other than that, not too many details have been released.

Enjoy the video after the break. The announcements just keep coming, the tough part is going to be deciding which products to buy. [Twitter]

Update: T-Mobile has made it official, and the full press release is after the break.

Motorola blows minds with desktop, 'webtop' docks for Atrix 4G

6

Motorola just announced a pair of accessories for the upcoming AT&T Atrix 4G that are designed to make the phone the only device you will need when on the go. First up is a desktop dock like what we have seen with the Droid 1 and the Droid X. What is unique this time is that the dock has HDMI out and a number of USB ports designed to be used for a keyboard and mouse. Moto has put a ton of work into creating and entirely new UI for the phone when docked that allows you to do everything you can on your phone and more.

They somehow got the full desktop version of Firefox, Flash and all, running on the phone with all the tabs and new windows you could want. They also showed off playing games like Angry Birds on an external monitor using the mouse and keyboard. In addition, expect to be able to make calls, access contacts, play music and videos, and do everything else you can on your phone while docked.

Lastly, they showed off what they are calling a 'webtop' for the phone. It is a netbook-sized device with nothing by a keyboard, trackpad,  large screen, battery, and dock for the Atrix 4G. You slide your phone in and get all the functionality you did in the desktop setup. Motorola promised 9-10 hours of battery life for the device.

The company did not announce release dates or prices, but promised more info would come soon and that prices would be "competitive." Check out a picture of the webtop dock after the break. Much more to come as soon as we get our hands on these bad boys after the press conference is over. [Android Central live blog

Panasonic unveils Android powered Viera Tablet

2

Panasonic has just unveiled their tablet to the CES crowd, while details at this point are still rather slim it's said to be powered by Android and will be hitting global markets sometime in the near future. After reading the press release, I'd be lying if I said it didn't sound like anything more then a fancy TV remote but I'm sure there is more to it than that.

The VIERA Tablet is a tablet-type terminal with a small touch screen LCD display. The new tablet is designed to provide creative functions and easy operability in conjunction with VIERA digital televisions to deliver new value that cannot be offered through Internet televisions alone. The tablet will create a whole new viewing style. Its intuitive navigation interface makes it easy for the user to use cloud services. The tablet can also work as a sub-screen for displaying images and information related to the images shown on the connected television.

We're still waiting for details to come forward but if you're interested in learning a little bit more about what, exactly it does the press release can be found after the break. [Engadget]
