Ahead of its Galaxy Note 4 unveiling event next week in Germany, Samsung has posted a few short teaser videos showing the creative power of the Galaxy Note series. The videos show how artists and creative types use the S Pen on the go, with one artist going as far as saying the Note has allowed her to replace her computer.

Study suggests Fire Phone sales are not lighting on fire

A new study suggests that Amazon may have sold no more than 35,000 Fire Phones since the smartphone launched this summer. The reasearch cited reasons such as a high $200 price tag that's equivalent to Apple's iPhone 5s and Samsung's Galaxy S5 and an exclusivity with U.S. carrier AT&T as reasons for the Fire Phone's slow sales, though Amazon still has not disclosed sales numbers for its debut smartphone on the market.

AT&T has just shuffled its leadership giving former AT&T Mobility head Ralph de la Vega a promotion and letting Glenn Lurie fill his old role. Under the reorganization, Ralph de la Vega will now lead the new Mobility and Business Solutions group.

IFTTT launches Eyefi channel

IFTTT (If This Then That) has kicked off a new channel for Eyefi SD cards. That means when you take a shot with your dedicated camera that's using an Eyefi card, in addition to shunting it to your Android device as normal, you can automate all sorts of actions once that picture hits the cloud. Send pictures with a certain tag to your Flickr profile, or conversely, have shots from your Instagram account copied over to your Eyefi Cloud. All of those recipes can be handled with the relatively new IFTTT app for Android.

BitTorrent Sync for Android updated with link sharing

If you love sharing files, but don't trust The Cloud, BitTorrent's Android client has had a big revamp with a new user interface and the ability to share folders via HTTPS link, email, or QR code. The update also revamps the user interface and a few behind-the-scenes improvements. These changes come alongside an equally-vamped desktop client.

Gmail is making it easier to create or join a Hangouts with friends by grouping those who are online currently together so you know who to initiate a conversation with if you need an instant response. The change, effective today, will now show a separate tab when you log into Gmail on the browser to show those who are online so you can instantly gab, chat, or start a video conversation. Additionally, you can pin favorites as well, making them easier to access.

NVIDIA and VMware, two companies with serious cloud muscle, have announced a partnership to take virtual desktop on Chromebooks to the next level. Currently in a "preview" stage, this new workstation-class virtual desktop tech leverages NVIDIA's GRID vGPU technology in conjunction with VMware Blast Performance to offer high-performance computing from a Chromebook.

Enough is enough sometimes — here's how to mute threads on Google+

Google+ is a wonderful place of conversations. But unlike real conversations, when you get bored, you can't just walk away. That's what the mute button is there is for. It lets you get out of a conversation and the flood of notifications an active post can bring. You can also use the mute button on individual people, which we genuinely hope Google is working on bringing to real-world conversations. Muting is also a handy thing for posts that disgust/horrify/enrage or otherwise evoke an emotional response you don't need to see more than once.

So let's talk about shutting things up.

Archos launches a connected weather station, light bulbs and beanies that will play your tunes

In addition to today's announcement of new Android phones and tablets and new Windows Phones from Archos, the company is expanding their connected home line with a new home weather station. The spherical pair of devices, due to be announced at IFA 2014 is designed to work with both Android and iOS devices.
