Seidio's sure the Nexus One is coming

10

When you take this gig, you have to resign yourself to the fact that you'll be writing a lot about products that might or might not exist. And accessory-maker Seidio (whose wares we sell in the AndroidCentral Store, btw) is heading down that road with the Nexus One, teasing "the ultimate accessories for the ultimate Android Phone," which likely is headed for T-Mobile. But nothing is official there. The phone still hasn't been properly announced, and not even the name is official. But maybe they know something we don't, which would be fine. [Seidio via Gear Diary]

Google Goggles demoed on Xperia X10

0

We're still waiting on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to make an official appearance any time now, possibly on T-Mobile, possibly AT&T. Or maybe neither. We just don't know yet. Anyhoo, here's a look at the Google Goggles app running on the X10. Word of warning: Turn down your speakers, then peep the video after the break. [Via DailyMobile.se]

Rumor has G1 getting Android 2.0 update

17

Rumors are like elbows and other things around here, so we're going to swallow some salt with this one. But AndroidSPIN says it has an anonymous tipster with word that the HTC G1 on T-Mobile -- as in the very first commercially available Android phone -- will be getting an Eclair update. And that's not out of the realm of possibilty, as we've already seen Android 2.0 ported over to the G1, albeit in pretty raw form. No word on when the over-the-air update could come, or if it'll be the newer 2.0.1 flavor. Stay tuned, folks. [AndroidSPIN]

Update: Erm, fixed headline.

Video of Espresso ROM on a Hero

12

Remember that HTC Espresso ROM that we'd seen ported onto an HTC Hero? There's video of the deed after the break. We'll take this on a new phone, no problem. But it'd be great if HTC were to spread the love around, ya know? [via HTCPedia]

T-Mobile's march through the NBA continues, this time with Dwight Howard showing off his myTouch 3G, with a little help from Sir Charles. (Catch the Donut reference?) Peep the video after the break. Thanks, ballroom dru, for the tip!

Analyst predicts 150,000 apps by 2011, and you did, too!

0

Let's play "Are you Smarter than an Analyst." Simon Khalaf, CEO for analyst Flurry Inc., which studies apps and their use, says the Android Market could have 100,000 to 150,000 apps by the end of 2010. Currently, there are about 16,000 apps in the Market.

We previously asked for your predictions, and above is where your predictions fell. Twenty-seven percent of you also predicted 100,000 to 150,000 apps, and 75,000 to 100,000 was just behind at 25 percent. So congratulations, you're all now official analysts!
