Sprint teasing EVO 3D via e-mail; not listed on rebates before June 23

23

Let's get back to the Sprint EVO 3D launch date for a second, shall we? Or, rather, the lack of a launch date. A bunch of you reminded us that when the EVO 3D was listed under "Week 4" in the recent version of the Sprint Playbook, it referred to the training cycle, and not so much a spot on the calendar. And that's correct.

But let's also take a look at the rebate schedule from said Playbook. The EVO 3D is nowhere to be seen for June 5-23. Now that doesn't mean things can't change -- we'd love to see it come out sooner rather than later. But all the info we currently have suggests we won't see a launch before ... wait for it ... the fourth week of June, at the earliest. But, again, that could well change.

Also, Sprint's started sending out e-mail teasers for the EVO 3D, which AC reader Jamie just sent our way. No, there's no launch date listed there, either, but it's another sure sign that we're marching steadily toward launch. Check it out after the break.

Plants vs. Zombies -- all 75MB of it -- now in the Amazon Appstore

65

The wait is over, folks. Plants vs. Zombies for Android is finally available. But it comes with a catch. First is that it's only available in the Amazon Appstore. No biggie. The other is that it's a whopping 75 megabytes. We can already feel your older phone creaking under the weight. (Never mind how long it's taking to actually download the thing. Lady Gaga's Amazon exclusive has nothing on this.) But for all those ones and zeroes, you get 49 killer plants and 26 varieties of zombies.

So get your download on at the link below, as the game is free today.

Download: Amazon Appstore; Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Motorola Droid 3 appears in Verizon device management pages

23

While this is in no way any indication of an immediate release, seeing the Motorola Droid 3 listed in Verizon's device management pages means the folks at big red are getting ready for the new slider to make it's way into stores.  We've seen pictures of the Droid 3 a few times, but the release date and specs still seem to elude everyone, although we've heard dual-core, 4-inch qHD display, and 3G only; sometime in June.  This latest piece of the puzzle still doesn't shed much light on any of it, unfortunately.  One thing we do know -- it's coming, and there's quite a few OG Droid users getting antsy to trade up to a newer model.  Not only is that a testament to the longevity of the phone that many feel started it all, but it should also be a hint to Verizon to hurry and help folks spend their money.

Thanks, NerdyDesi!
