Either way, I'm not too sure why there's such a delay. Honestly, I feel like the first HTC phones to get ICS should have gotten them by the beginning of this month.
I really wish it would catch on! Honestly the only people that wouldn't love it are the ones posting in here about how they use slide to unlock, nothing, or some app that locks access to certain apps. The fingerprint scanner is the highest amount of security, with the least amount of trouble for authorized access.
I'd Love the Otterbox Defender case for my Droid Razr, Most of the guys at the fire house use an otterbox, and they really do take a beating without damaging the phone.
I have no interest in ICS for the Thunderbolt! Why risk screwing up a very stable device at this point? It's not like you're going to see ICS anyway with Sense. For those clamoring for ICS on the Thunderbolt, what exactly is it going to give you that you don't already have now?
Updates are a sore spot for all manufacturers, just the way phones are released it's always a crapshot, I have a t-bolt and I'm a little annoyed that it won't be getting an ICS update, but I get an upgrade in November so I'll just get something new then, maybe the next google experience device.
Plus I have an AT&T Galaxy S2 as my work phone and that'll get ICS soon.
It would still be simpler to just knock the guy out and take his actual wallet than trying to brute-force your way into Google Wallet.
However, that is pretty half-assed response on Google's part. "Just don't root your device" sounds almost as bad as Jerry's "just buy a Nexus" during the whole Carrier IQ fiasco.
I will buy the gnexus, or whatever is the next pure google phone. This was HTCs top phone when i bought it, and now its listed as EOL, also the ICS update is coming later than originally stated. Im coming from RIM and pushing back updates is why i left, seems like i boarded a new ship with the same course as RIM.
I'd like to see them fix the addition of a space after selecting my login name from predictions (usually email address). I always have to backspace before moving on to the password section, otherwise whatever I'm logging into doesn't recognize it.
Umm that is not true. I've tried https://music.google.com from several mobile web browsers and it acts as if its starting up and fails. Just because its web based doesn't mean its going to work with any 'o browser.
Pretty sure they weren't starting an iPhone argument, merely stating they were going to choose iPhone over HTC next time around.
Also, iOS major versions are released each year. iOS 5 was released on Oct 12, 2011. It was available to models as early as the 3GS, which was released June 19, 2009. So that phone at least enjoyed software updates for 28 months. I doubt iOS 6 will be offered for it, but that's still impressive support for an aging device.
Why is everyone making the assumption that the TBolt isn't getting the update? This list is not final given their statement: "Stay tuned for more updates on Ice Cream Sandwich releases in the coming weeks." Nothing in their statement categorically says that the TBolt isn't getting it.
It depends on the handset as to whether rooting requires a wipe first, or unlocking the bootloader, especially if the malware doesn't plan on *keeping* root after it's stolen your details. Certainly I've been able to root my HTC Hero running 2.1 (Using Universal Androot), and my Samsung Galaxy S II running 2.3.5 (using zergRush) *without* having to wipe them, or replace the kernel with an insecure kernel. mempodroid will similarly root ICS for now, and I'm sure new kernel exploits will be found in future Android kernels.
Haha, i saw that. Its interesting you have the entire iphones screen in the picture, but about 2/3s of the GN's screen.

Small screen on that white phone....

Would love the EVO 3D case, and the stylus would be nice too...

Crystal Case for EVO 3D please.
Looks pretty nice, only way to be sure is test it. :)
My GPS did not work at all, sent back, eesh, sucks! :-(
Didnt htc promise ics by the end of February? I feel like they lied and are way behind.
I'm pretty sure we will hear the same amount of bitching and whining as soon as Motorola, LG and Samsung make their announcements.

you are incorrect. i have 2 GTV's. Logitech. both allow pandora to play in background while using this aquarium. works great.

I want the Seidio Spring Clip Holster for EVO 4G!!

Where'd you get "2 years" from?
I am not moaning. I have a super Sensation XE. Roll on March. Getting OS2 for my PlayBook soon too.

As to the folks blaming Verizon, I'll agree with that one. You may want to read this statement from Motorola regarding updates: http://www.mobileburn.com/18499/news/custom-ui-not-the-cause-of-android-...
I mean...ICS on the N900, come on Nokia just stick with what you did well with. (p.s. I have an N900, & HTC G2)
And a tear has begun to well up into my eye. Thunderbolt and feeling left out.

I'll take the Stylus!
