AT&T will offer business customers who want rugged smartphones a new, and large, entry in that market. The carrier announced today it will debut the 5.7-inch Kyocera DuraForce XD. AT&T started selling the older and smaller Kyocera DuraForce in November 2014.
Aside from its large display, AT&T has not revealed much about the hardware inside the upcoming Kyocera DuraForce XD, other than it has a 3700mAh battery. However. it's been made to take a lot of abuse:
DuraForce XD is certified IP68 dust and waterproof (30 minutes, 6 feet) and provides Military Standard 810G protection against dust, drops, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure, high altitude, solar radiation, salt fog, humidity, and water immersion.
AT&T has yet to announce the launch date and price for the Kyocera DuraForce XD.
