Apple Music is coming to Android this fall

Just announced at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco — Apple Music (Eddy Cue did say "iTunes" on stage, though, causing a brief moment of confusion) is coming to Android this fall.

Apple Music is the company's new take on streaming music, running $9.99 a month (with the first three months free). Families of up to six people can share a membership for $14.99 a month. It offers streaming music from Apple's vast music catalogue, as well as access to your own personal collection of ripped CDs and purchased digital music. It also offers personal recommendations and a new "Beats 1" 24/7 international radio station led by popular DJs.

Naturally this will go head-to-head with Google Play Music, Spotify and other popular services with very similar pricing and feature offerings. Apple's press release for the new music service indicates that the launch will be coming to Android phones, presumably meaning tablet and Android TV apps aren't going to be offered.
