Android Auto support announced for select 2016 Buick and GMC models

GM is continuing to move forward in its commitment to Android Auto, announcing that the system will come to two more of its brands, GMC and Buick. Android Auto will come to these brands starting with the base model 2016 GMC Sierra, and is expected on the Canyon and Yukon, as well as Buick's LaCrosse and Regal, later in the model year. The system will integrate with GMC and Buick's own IntelliLink.

From GMC:

A seven-inch-diagonal screen radio is offered on Sierra base models and will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability at the beginning of the model year. Android Auto capability is expected to be available on the eight-inch system later in the 2016 model year.

GM has previously announced Android Auto support for a number of its brands, including Cadillac and Chevrolet. In order to make use of Android Auto, you'll need Android 5.0 Lollipop or later, along with the Android Auto app.
