We spent a fair amount of time at CES strolling through the Motorola section, handling the international versions of the Droid, the new Backflip and some Chinese Android phones. And Rene Ritchie from The iPhone Blog and I hung out in the accessories section and found Moto's latest Bluetooth headset, the Endeavor HX1.

In addition to having dual-microphone noise cancellation, the Endeavor HX1 has a trick up its sleeve should the background noise be too great to overcome: It'll simply turn off the mics and use conduction -- the sound of your voice moving through your ear canal -- to clear things up. Moto calls this "Sealth Mode."

Behold, the Lenovo Lephone. We're trying to decide whether this keyboard is a work of art, or if it's just going to give us headaches. The pictures point to the latter, though it may well turn out to be more usable that it looks. Otherwise, we're still looking for the 3.7-inch, WVGA device in the first have of the year in China. During CES it was announced by Motorola that it would be sending out an update to their Android devices to enable Flash with Flash Player 10.1.  As you can see from the video (embedded after the break), Flash has been optimized for the Droid chipset and runs pretty darn smooth.

You can see Flash on the Droid looks like it is ready to go. And the Nexus One owners thought they had a leg up on Droid owners ...

So what are you waiting for Motorola, give us the goods already along with Android 2.1!

Looks like you Droid Eris folks have another update being rolled out. Word in our forums is that this is a bug fix (sorry, no Android 2.0 revision yet) that corrects an issue when the phone wakes as well as a connection problem. The update is a little under 5 megs and will take you to Build 1.17.605.1 CL104882. Follow the update discussion here. (And thanks, Curtis, for the tip!)

The bad news: There's a flaw in the Motorola Droid 2.0.1 software that can potentially allow someone access to your data even if you have a lock pattern set.

It seems that if your phone receives a call -- you can answer the phone without unlocking -- and hit the "back" button, suddenly you're in. No unlock pattern required. And that's bad.

The good news: For this to work, someone has to have physical access to your phone. Let's hope we see a patch for this pretty quick. And in the meantime, hold on tight to your Droid. [via The Assurer, thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

Gosh, did anything happen last week? Oh yeah: there was that one show, the Consumer Electronics Show. Good times - here's what we liked:

That's it, folks. Stick a fork in us. We're done. The 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is over, we've fled Sin City and are giving our weary feet a rest. But what a show it was.

The Google Nexus One was unveiled before the show, but it was on hand at an event Wednesday night, as were the Motorola Backflip and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. E-readers were abundant. And we took a ride with the Moto Droid app that controls the Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid's charging schedule.

It seems as if the Google Nexus One is having some difficulty staying connected to T-Mobile's 3G band. A countless number of new Nexus One owners are flooding Google's support forums complaining that their new device bounces back and forth from Edge to 3G on a consistant basis where their old 3G device did not show the same behavior. We've looked into this a bit further and found that T-Mobile along with Google are looking into the problem.

"Google and T-Mobile are investigating this issue and hope to have more information for you soon. We understand your concern and appreciate your patience."

The big question remains, is this a T-Mobile network issue or a software/hardware issue? Possibly a little bit of both but we are leaning towards the latter.

We are curious to see how many of our readers are suffering from the same issue. Let us know in the comments below or directly in our forums! 

Same as with the Motorola Droid, the Nexus One has found a place (at least at one point) on Google's home page. And if you're in an airport with Google's free holiday WiFi (what up McCarran!), at one point you were redirected to Google.com/phone upon log-in.

Personally, I'm not crazy about the precedent Google set with the Droid advert, subtle as it may be. If that space were for rent by anybody (and it may be, if the price is right, though we likely would have seen something else by now), all would be Kosher. But Google cherry-picking its own products leaves a slightly worse taste in our mouth than we had even after the final night of CES. That said, it's their home page, and they can do whatever they darn well please with it.
